Sing to the Moon
****
Laura Mvula is a 27 year old singer-songwriter from Birmingham, England. Sing to the Moon is her debut album.
This is a genuinely beautiful record, full of potential singles. I had the pleasure of seeing Laura and her band support Jessie Ware on tour this year. They are an extremely talented group who should continue to do great things.

Parquet Courts
Light Up Gold
***
Parquet Courts are a punk-rock band from Brooklyn. Light Up Gold is their full-length debut.
Appropriately described as jangle-punk, this is full of post-rock sounds and punk-rock ideas. Fans of Kurt Vile's Walkin' on a Daze will find something to enjoy in this.

Pharmakon
Abandon
**
Pharmakon is the project of New Yorker, Margaret Chardiet. Abandon is her debut album.
This is a noise album that confronts the listeners emotions, asking questions of them that they may not want to answer. The horror in the noise and vocals of Abandon runs the border of being unlistenable and the work of a genius.

Based in LA, Dominick Fernow has been around for a while. Through the Window is his latest as Prurient.
This is an exceptional dark bass/techno album. It runs the line between being dark and brooding, and futuristic and imaginative. It's very engaging and a great listen.

****
Impossible Truth is William Tyler's second album of solo guitar music.
This is a really fabulous record that will appeal to fans of Portico Quartet. It's possible to get lost in Tyler's dream like melodies as they rise and decline throughout the album.
